Meet Our 2013-2014 E-Board!!
Dominique Crump is the President of Sister 2 Sister for the 2013-2014 school year. She is from the lovely city of Detroit, MI. She is a senior concentrating in International Studies focusing on Global Environment and Health as well as a concentration in the Department for Afro-American and African Studies (DAAS). When she graduates, she plans on attending a Master’s Program in Social Work. Her career goals are to be a clinical psychologist. She is also involved in SOAP & ResStaff.
Currently a Senior through the college of LS&A, with a major in Psychology and a Minor in Writing, Kalynn was born in Detroit, MI, and is involved in a cluster of organizations throughout campus. Some of her involvement include Vice-President for Sister 2 Sister; Tour Guide for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions; & assisting students interested in Psychology, Neuroscience, & BCN as a Psychology Peer Advisor through the Psych Department.
Munira is a senior double majoring in Women's Studies and Sociology at the College of Literature Science and the Arts. She was born and raised on the west side of Detroit. Munira works as a secretary in the School of Kinesiology for the professors during the school year. She was a member of Dalliance Dance Crew her sophomore year. Munira is a very social person and loves to be involved. She has a positive attitude and tries to help everyone. She loves Sister 2 Sister with all of her heart.
Ravon Alford is the current Social Events Executive of S2S. She is a junior at the University of Michigan, concentrating on the field of psychology with a minor in Crime and Justice. In addition to S2S, she is an active member of Big SIBS, Black Volunteer Network, K-Grams, and Student Ambassadors (via the Focus Group). She loves S2S, because they are some of the most beautiful, driven, and outgoing young women she has ever met. She says that S2S is a safe haven for her and others.
Alma is a rising senior, studying Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. She was born and raising on the east side of Detroit, along with her mother, father, and 8 siblings. Within Sister 2 Sister, she holds the position of Co-External Executive. Alma states that “Sister 2 Sister has helped me in so many ways. Three years in this organization has been extremely rewarding. This org has become a vessel for me to blossom and work on problems within myself as well."
Octavia is a 4th year student in the School of Education majoring in Spanish & English for Secondary Education. She hopes to begin her career teaching and eventually become a superintendent/president of a school district, preferably Detroit's. Besides Sister 2 Sister, she participates in the Ann Arbor Language Program where she teaches 3rd-4th grade students Spanish. Also a Student Manager at a campus store, she hopes to contribute to her community through her position on E-board.
L`Quan is currently a senior through the college of LS&A. She is pursuing a BS in Computational Informatics. Upon graduating she hopes to have a position within a start-up company where she can grow and further her knowledge and interest in computer science. When she’s not busy with her academics she enjoys spending time within her organizations. She really enjoyed the way that S2S functioned and the bond that the ladies had which is what prompted her to join E-Board.
LaPorscha is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish. She is a native of Detroit and Southfield, Michigan. LaPorscha mentored with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit for three years and has also been involved in organizations such as Support for Incoming Black Students (S.I.B.S), Leaders and Best (LAB), Becoming Educators of Tomorrow (BET), and Hustle and Grow. She has done community service at the Clarebridge Nursing home in Ann Arbor and Providence Hospital in Southfield.
